“Glow Up” This Summer: 5 Tips for Personal Transformation

Bright and beautiful (just like you!), summer is the perfect time to use these self-care tips towards personal growth.

You may have seen the hashtag #TheGlowUp on your social feeds – it’s all about the art of personal development. We think summer is the perfect time to take mindful action towards becoming an even better version of yourself, so here are five practices you can use to glow up and make it the summer of you. Get up with the sun. Early rising is key to productivity – and it’s easier during the summer thanks to those early-a.m. summer rays. Draft a to-do list each morning, and take advantage of the season’s extended hours to make it all happen. You’ll be surprised at just how much you can accomplish before you relax and take in the next gorgeous sunset. Match summer’s moxie. Mirror the zeal of the season by maintaining a positive attitude, shining bright from within, and sharing your joy with others. When you see your glow reflected on others’ faces, you’ll find yourself feeling more empowered each day. Up the ante on your exercise routine. This summer, don’t just work out your body, include your mind in your regimen. Select some summer affirmations to build your self-confidence. On your daily solo run or yoga session, speak positively to yourself as you go. It’s incredibly rewarding to know you’re building strong peace of mind as you build strength in your muscles. Embrace adventure. Summer is always filled with pleasant surprises, so nix any overly-thought-out travel plans and go with the flow! Visit an unfamiliar city, walk off the beaten path, take a lesson to learn something new. Celebrate your serendipitous journey with a small memento to signify your travels. It could be a vibrant bracelet inspired by your favorite seaside oasis like the Island Teal Color Infusion Cuff or a set of charm bangles such as the Sailboat Set of 3 to remind you of when you decided, impromptu, to take sailing lessons.  Make a commitment to yourself. We all intend to take “me time,” but many of us cancel those personal plans as obligations pop up. Yet, time for yourself is sacred and should be treated as such. Make a promise that when you schedule a spa day or an hour at the park with a good book, that you’ll honor those plans. (Your other obligations will still be there when you get back!) Indulge in moments of uninterrupted peace and tranquility to refresh yourself, so you can be at your best for yourself and others throughout the year.
