As our positive energy continues to spread, we are reminded of how much our wonderful fans mean to us. It is because of you that our message of self-empowerment, inner beauty, and awareness is resonating with people worldwide, and we are both grateful and blessed for your unwavering support.
Thanks to your love, we are launching a new blog series, Collection Inspiration. We want to give our fans a look into the mind of Rachel Rafaelian-Ajaj, Head Designer of Vintage-Sixty Six by Alex and Ani, to show how her love of the sixties translate into unique, retro-chic pieces that push the boundaries.
We hope you enjoy this glimpse behind the scenes of Alex and Ani!
What inspired this collection?
I drew inspiration from the flappers of the 1920s, The Great Gatsby, and the structured lines of Art Deco design. That era holds so much beauty and mystery, and I wanted to channel that in Spark of Revelry.
What feelings does this collection evoke?
This collection is fearless, festive, and forward. I hope fans find it unique and wear it throughout the holiday season and beyond.
Why did you choose the color palette?
The holidays call for rich colors and tones, and I wanted to channel that in this collection. There’s gold, gray and hematite among others. There’s even rhinestones to compliment the harsh, Art Deco inspired lines.
What do you love about this collection?
The flapper necklace and bracelet are two of the most unique pieces I’ve designed. They’re so fun and compliment the collection as well as the classics collection well. The mix of beads and rhinestones adds the right amount of glamour for an iconic, 1920s feel.
What can we expect?
Expect a twist on the classic Vintage Sixty-Six style. I normally design my collections with more metal, however this one is lighter while still maintaining its identity through shape. Spark of Revelry is festive, fun, and even compliments Glitz and Garland, Alex and Ani’s holiday collection, very well. I’m excited to share it with fans!
