Charity By Design Announces Partnership With Marine Toys For Tots Foundation

We started following and supporting the efforts of the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation here at Alex and Ani in 2012 when our corporate headquarters and retail locations took part in the annual Toys For Tots toy drive. We admired the fact that the Marines were not only dedicated to protecting our country, but also giving back in their homeland by supporting children during the holidays.

The mission of the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys at Christmastime to less fortunate children in the community. Due to the positive relationship built with the Marines Toys For Tots Foundation during the toy drive, we decided to expand this relationship from employee engagement and community outreach to a charm design supporting the organization. With our focus on the Made in America aspect of our brand, we wanted to create a Charity by Design piece that recognizes and celebrates the spirit of the United States Armed Forces.

The Motorcycle Charm Bangle was chosen to symbolize an all-American attitude. Much of our inspiration for this design was due to the several nationwide motorcycle rides held throughout the year to support veterans. One event that stood out to us in particular was the Chicagoland Toys For Tots Motorcycle Parade that has been running for 35 years. This was a way to turn a universally-recognized American symbol of freedom into a meaningful representation of hitting the road in order to help others in our community.

The Motorcycle Bangle will be available in stores and on www.alexandani.com tomorrow, November 4th. 20% of all sales from the bangle will benefit Marine Toys For Tots Foundation, to deliver — through a new toy at Christmas — a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.
