In order to look and feel its best, it requires a little TLC, especially when damaged. Blemishes on the skin, such as stretch marks, can be minimized and even prevented with a simple regimen. In addition, scars from minor burns, cuts, etc. can be diminished and virtually erased with the proper products.
A common question I hear from many women is how to reduce the appearance of stretch marks from pregnancy. However, the key is to prep the skin for stretching before it begins. Apply pure cocoa butter, shea butter, or coconut oil to the stomach several times a day throughout the pregnancy to maintain elasticity. Also, drinking plenty of fluid will help keep skin supple and hydrated. After giving birth, continue this regimen with the inclusion of vitamin E to promote scar tissue healing.
When it comes to preexisting scars on the body, pure vitamin E is best. When applied liberally numerous times a day, it helps accelerate tissue repair. Over time, the scars will fade and can virtually disappear. However, it’s important to note that the older scars are, the harder it is to get rid of them. This is why beginning the application of vitamin E as soon as a scar forms is ideal to help ensure the best outcome.
The skin is the largest organ of the body, so it makes sense to treat it with the utmost care. Giving it the attention it needs will help preserve a fresh appearance and healthy glow, and who wouldn’t want that?
