April is National Donate Life Month and The Rhode Island Organ Donor Awareness Coalition will be “Going Green” at the Rhode Island State House, Roger Williams University, Rhode Island College, University of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Blood Centers six locations (listed below), Rhode Island Hospital, community events and schools, and McCoy Stadium. Find out how you can register to be an organ, tissue, bone marrow or blood donor at www.riodac.org, www.facebook/riodac or www.meetup/riodac.

The Rhode Island Organ Donor Awareness Coalition’s (RIODAC) mission is to increase awareness of the critical need for organ and tissue donation through public education, increasing the number of registered organ donors. RIODAC is a volunteer-led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised of transplant recipients and candidates, donor families, healthcare professionals, and transplant/donation advocates. They offer informational programs in schools, workplaces and the community, and hold donor drives and awareness events. RIODAC also provides information and support to transplant recipients, candidates and donor families through newsletters, monthly meetings and co-sponsorship of the Transplant Support Group at Rhode Island Hospital.

The RIODAC Going Green campaign is in partnership with the Rhode Island Blood Center, Be The Match, New England Organ Bank and Rhode Island Hospital.
