On December 5, 2013, the 9th annual Massachusetts Conference for Women was held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This powerful conference featured acclaimed speakers, such as Doris Kearns Goodwin, Pulitzer Prize winning author, and Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS, who inspired and motivated attendees with their amazing stories.
We were excited that our Vice President of Charity by Design, Nicki Maher, and her team were also in attendance! Maher served as a panel speaker during the breakout sessions and delivered a powerful message on the importance of giving back. She gave real-life examples of how volunteerism and charity involvement in the workplace can empower employees to make a difference locally, domestically, and globally.
We were honored to be in the presence of such riveting, intelligent women who are making a tremendous impact in the world! All of the speakers were a true inspiration to our team and we look forward to applying what we learned to both our personal and professional lives.
Kerry Washington, actress and women’s rights advocate, spoke via satellite to attendees.
Linda Cliatt-Wayman, an accomplished educator in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served as a keynote speaker.
Blake Mycoskie, founder of TOMS and the person behind the One for One global movement, motivated and inspired the crowd with his powerful message.
